Sophie Walsh The Rosy Room Springfield Lakes Dietitian

Hi I’m Sophie! I am The Rosy Room’s nutritionist and Accredited Practising Dietitian. I have completed an undergraduate degree of Health Science (Nutrition) at Queensland University of Technology, and a Master of Dietetic Studies at the University of Queensland.

I believe in a whole lifestyle approach to health and wellness, and I thrive on forming relationships with my clients, and helping them to achieve their health outcomes.

I have an intrinsic and evidence-based understanding of the positive impact that good nutrition and a lifestyle approach to health has on overall levels of well being. I work with patients to overcome the barriers and challenges to achieving positive dietary changes through creating an environment of trust and understanding.

My personal experience has led me to believe passionately in this approach throughout all stages of life. I provide individualized evidence based care and enjoy working with other health care providers in order to optimize health outcomes. I consider it to be a privilege to be a part of people’s journey to a healthier and happier self, with a holistic focus on their lives.

My primary areas of nutritional interest include (but certainly are not limited to):

  • Prevention, treatment of, and recovery from cancer
  • Maternal health
  • Paediatrics
  • Mental Health
  • Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight
  • Chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease and diabetes

Often people can feel vulnerable when discussing their health and lifestyle. My compassionate, personable style assists me to make you feel at ease during sessions. My lived experience and professionalism allow me to provide gentle understanding of personal challenges and assist me to empower patients with knowledge and strategies to improve their health.
